Friday was a busy day celebrating the 100th day of school. Of course, our best discussion was at Calendar Math time when we gathered all of our sets of tens and moved them to the hundreds place and talked about why this happens.
We did 100 exercises, were silent for 100 seconds, counted to 100 and exercised with a Jack Hartman song, rested for another 100 seconds and did many other activities with 100, including putting 100 spots on a monster.
We wished we had 100 things:
Chloe: 100 puppies, Damen: 100 toys, John: 100 pumpkins, Chantaya: 100 cats, Aolani: 100 kittens, Kayden: 100 pops, Hunter: 100 friends, Ethan: 100 puppies, JoJo: 100 snowflakes, Zach: 100 dirt bikes, Bailey: 100 huge penguins, Greyson: 100 monster trucks, Victoria: 100 baby wolves (which led to a big discussion where the students determined the right term was “pups”), Cole: 100 motorcycles, Terrence: 100 dogs, Ian: 100 solar systems, Robert: 100 zombies
We had a lot of fun and students know a little more about exactly how much 100 really is!
