Compass Learning

Our district supports Compass Learning, an online website that allows your child to practice academics any time, anywhere.  I have set up the kindergarten students with Language Arts and Math assignments and will be sending home their user names and passwords on Monday.  While this is optional practice for home, the students really have fun with the games and they reinforce everything we are learning at school.  Enjoy!

Kindergarten News September 23–Fall is Here

Mr. Rouse had the kindergarteners singing fall songs in music today.  They were happy to sing again for me!  I love how kids this age are so happy to dance and sing, it is really a special time.

Mrs. Anderson was a great help as I continue to assess reading skills.  The students enjoyed Miss Mingo and the Fire Drill, a great story about practicing for a fire drill.  Then everyone practiced stop, drop and roll. We’ll practice , do activities and read more during Fire Prevention Week beginning October 9.

Please check your child’s folder for their Compass Learning user name and password.  Compass Learning is a great way to reinforce kindergarten skills in reading and math.  We will be using Compass Learning at school but there are plenty of assignments to use for homework as well!

Monday will be a big day.  Pictures will be taken and our Community Open House begins at 3:30.  Please stop by with your families, we’ve had a wonderful beginning to the school year and would love to see all of you!
